Helping BC's Docs Keep Up By Keeping Track Of CMEs.
The Minoru Medical Education Society ( MMES ) was incorporated
as a non-profit society on February 14, 2001 under the Society Act
of British Columbia (S-42701) in order to:
Support, organize, and encourage the continuing medical education
of health care professionals in the Richmond-Vancouver Health
Services area.
Promote and organize medical education situations for the purpose
of maintaining professional harmony in the general medical community
of the Richmond-Vancouver Health Services area.
The sole purpose of this society is to promote continuing medical
education for the practising medical community in the Lower Mainland
of British Columbia. To that end the MMES will sponsor medical education
situations and will also act as a venue through which the practising
physicians and other allied medical personnel can apprise themselves
of upcoming Continuing Medical Education (CME) dates, topics, and
locations.
Funding:
The funding for the Minoru Medical Education Society ( MMES ) will
come from corporate sponsorships and will be supported by ongoing
corporate subscriptions as well as financial input from the public
health sector and fund raising events.
Advantages:
Practising physicians will be able to go online and find upcoming
CME events that appeal to them and to their respective time-tables.
Drug companies will have another level of communication that will
reach a large number of practising physicians and avoid duplications
and poor attendance. Funds remaining in the Society will go to maintaining
the web site and fund those medical CMEs that are less popular with
the pharmaceutical companies such as learning disabilities, domestic
violence etc. For further information about support see the FYI
and Contact pages in this web site.
